A Letter to the Lady Broncos

Dear Brookwood Softball,

I wanted to say thank you for letting me be a part of this team. I've loved being able to build relationships, watch all of you grow, and learn so much as a coach. It was such an amazing season watching y'all play, share passion for the game, and grow in love with the game of softball. Y'all spent this entire year fighting in every game, leaving it all on the field, and you all represented what Brookwood Softball is all about.

Seniors, you have set an example for those behind you for the remainder of their careers. You have shown them what it takes to get to where you want to be, how to play the game with the passion it takes to succeed, and how to represent our program in the best way possible. Y'all will forever be my first group at Brookwood High School, and I will forever be grateful for all of you. I hope you all remember to stay positively energetic, breathe when things get tough, understand how to compete the right way, keep a smile on your face, and overcome the barriers that stand in your way. You've learned how to do those things on the field, and you are prepared to accomplish those things in life. Please know that I am always a phone call away and will answer any questions you may have in all of your new adventures. I love you all, and I am so proud of each and every one of you.

Returners, remember the pain from last night. Remember what it was like to watch that team celebrate what you worked all year for. All of you need to understand what it's going to take to get there next year. Begin to prepare mentally and physically for next season. Make sure that you understand what roles our seniors played, and follow in their example. I want you all to know that it's going to take everything you have, playing your role to the best of your ability, putting the team above yourself, and learning how to handle the high pressure situations. Be willing to learn, grow, and understand what it takes to get to where we want to be next October. I can't wait to be back with all of you. Y'all know my door is always open, so please come and ask questions. I love all of you and already can't wait to get going again.

Coaches, thank you for allowing me to be a part of this group. This was by far one of the most enjoyable coaching staff's I've been a part of. Thank you for growing me, allowing me to mess up, and to learn from those experiences. If it didn't hurt like it did last night, I would know I wasn't where I was supposed to be. I'm already excited for next year, and I don't plan on missing another trip to Colombus.

Finally, I appreciate all of the support from the school and fans for us this year. It's been amazing to watch the growth of social media this year, and I only expect more next season. This will always be a season that I will remember for the rest of my life. I'm ready to implement the things that I've learned, grow further, and continue building relationships. I can't tell y'all how much it has meant to me to Giddy Up with all of you this season. Next year won't change a thing.
